In Environment
: Kirloskar Eco Club |
With an aim to make students
aware of their responsibility towards environment and ensure
this awareness reaches their homes, family and friends;
KPCL, has started a new initiative in schools called Kirloskar
Eco Club in 2007-08. Under this project, student members
were enrolled and projects undertaken in each school. Projects
on themes like Solid Waste Management, Bio diversity, Effects
of festivals on environment were undertaken in 2007-08.
In 2008-09 the theme was Water Management & Conservation.
The assessment of the projects was done by experts on criteria
such as project selection, implementation, awareness programs
conducted and results achieved etc. This brought out the
best practices followed by each school in different areas,
which were then shared with all schools to improve on their
performance in the next year. To bring in a measurable impact
we plan to continue with the Water Management and Conservation
theme for the next few years.

by providing a steel glass with chain attached to
