: Towards Student Community |
While the Corporate Social
Responsibility has been an integral part of our company
since its inception in 1958, a more structured effort was
launched in the year 2002-03. Over 8000 students have benefited
out from our educational initiative since.
We have adopted 12 schools in the vicinity
of our plants in Hadapsar & Saswad (Maharashtra) and
undertake various initiatives, with focus on education,
health & safety, environment and philanthropy.
We believe that an enlightened
youth of today is a responsible citizen of tomorrow.

Encourage
to improve Academic Merit : |

Felicitation
of Meritorious Students
(Std V to X) |
Meritorious
students from Std Vth to Xth class from the 12 adopted
schools are felicitated. They are gifted a school
kit containing a bag, notebooks, dictionary, grammar
and composition book and uniforms. This is to appreciate
their performance and encourage them to do in future.

Special coaching
and support in the form of books, notes, solving question
papers, Sakal Pattern etc is given to selected students
( Top 2 in each subject) to help them improve their
merit in exams. |

students camp

A summer camp
is conducted by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha for meritorious
students from around 70 schools in and around Pune
during summer. The company supports this activity
by way of donations in kind. Our employees also participate
by making cash donations to support this activity.
About 150 students benefit every year. |

children
|
Employees’
children who get first class with distinction in Xth
& XIIth and first class in graduation and post
graduation are felicitated in the company and are
given a token of appreciation on behalf of the Company,
Union Committee and Co-operative Credit Society, to
motivate them to excel further. |

Financial
Aid to economically challenged students : |
Economically
backward students are given aid in the form of school
fees, SSC Exam fees, notebooks, uniform, school bags,
shoes and socks. |

Orphan Children adoption |
Orphan students
are given support in the form of school fees, uniforms,
school bag, books shoes & socks.etc. |
In addition, we have initiated focused intervention for Economically
Challenged and Orphan children.
In 2008-09 we started conducting a Self Development Program
for these students in collaboration with an NGO - Madhavi
Kapur Foundation. The objective is to create independent learners,
boost self-confidence and motivation.
We initiated a Skill development program in collaboration
with Madhavi Kapur Foundation, Pune for socially and economically
challenged group of 158 students from 12 adopted schools.
Two days training was imparted in batches of 30 students each
on study skills & personality development. In 2008-09
a group of 158 students underwent this two day module and
in 2009-10 there are 184 students who have undergone the first
one day session of the program conducted in July 2009.
We believe that our activities are not just a onetime initiative
and all our schemes are being consistently implemented for
the past six years. These activities are monitored and followed
up by our in-house dedicated CSR team.
